REPORTS TO: Manager Damage Prevention

 

DESCRIPTION: 
Under the general supervision of the Manager Damage Prevention, the Damage Prevention Student will be working in the System Operations group to provide exceptional customer and stakeholder service. This will require a desire for problem solving and prioritizing the safety of employees and communities. This role will take initiative and thrive in a diverse environment that includes both team and individually based tasks.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):
•    Assess and interpret information on locates tickets and review FortisAlberta maps to determine if a field locates completion is required or the tickets can be cleared internally. 
•    Perform a variety of administrative duties such as updating Damage Tracking and multi-analysis spreadsheets.
•    Working with applications such as SAP, GElectric and other dispatching tools to support delegation duties.
•    Respond to customer inquiries and provide updates to customers and external stakeholders. 
•    Support the Damage Prevention department with daily operations.
•    Contributing to the overall high performance of the Damage Prevention team to ensure our customers’ operational needs are met.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Currently enrolled in a post-secondary with preference given to Civil/Electrical Technology Students or Electrical Engineering students and be planning to return to a post-secondary institution in a full-time capacity. 
•    Business Administration Students will also be considered.
