FortisAlberta is looking for a proactive and detail‑oriented Deskside Services Project Student to support our IT Client Services team.

In this role, you will contribute to daily technical operations, assist with process improvements, and play an active part in our Desktop Refresh project. 

This position is ideal for a student who enjoys problem solving, working with technology, and providing exceptional service to internal customers. You will gain hands‑on experience in a dynamic IT environment, working both independently and as part of a collaborative team!

 

Job Description:
•    Provide day‑to‑day operational support to the IT Client Services team.
•    Assist with developing, improving, and documenting processes to support team efficiency.
•    Participate in the Desktop Refresh project, including configuration, deployment, and user support activities.
•    Support daily operations of the Deskside team to help ensure customer needs and service levels are met.
•    Contribute to ongoing improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance tools, workflows, or customer experience.
•    Communicate effectively with employees and stakeholders to support IT‑related inquiries.
•    Setting up new workstations for office employees. 
•    Support service desk with new and current support tickets. 

 

Qualifications:
•    Currently enrolled in an Information Technology or related post‑secondary program and returning to full‑time studies.
o    A focus in working toward a career in Deskside support is an asset. 
•    Excellent communication and listening skills with the ability to build positive stakeholder relationships.
•    Strong aptitude for technology, continuous learning, and forward‑thinking approaches.
•    Demonstrated critical thinking, problem‑solving skills, and sound judgment.
•    High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
•    Strong analytical skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
•    Knowledge of Office 365, Windows 11, iOS and Apple system device management tools, remote support tools, and automated software deployment systems.
•    Experience with enterprise systems such as SAP is an asset.

 

Important:
•    Temporary student role.
•    Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
•    Based out of Airdrie (Kingsview office).
