TITLE: Land Coordinator Student (S25-033)

REPORTS TO: Supervisor Approvals and Land
DESCRIPTION:
Under the general supervision of the Supervisor Approvals and Land, the Land Coordinator Student is responsible to provide research and support to the Land & Approvals department. The role will assist with research, information gathering, and analysis for the purpose of issuing agreements and maintaining a database of land rights. The role will be highly effective, self-motivated and able to thrive with minimal oversight.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):
• Collaborating to review legal land rights including:
o Review status and effectiveness of land documentation and other contracts.
o Research of legal issues and preparation of compiled results and analysis.
o Work closely with internal business units including the Land, Capital Delivery, Business Development and Legal department.
o Organize and prepare results from review process into database.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Land department as well as outside the Land department.
• Providing general administrative support to the Land team:
o Project reporting and filing
o Document preparation
• Special projects and other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Precise attention to details and analysis
• Demonstrated ability in using MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently with limited supervision and as part of a dynamic team environment.
• Proven track record in continuous improvement – willing to challenge the ‘status quo’ and provide sound recommendations to improve processes.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution with a strong focus on surface land administration and be planning to return to a post-secondary institution in a full-time capacity.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
• Available for primarily office environment arrangements, with intermittent office to office travel, and some provision for minimal remote work. At supervisor’s discretion.
• Due to possible driving requirements for this role, a valid Alberta Motor Vehicle driver’s license in good standing, is required.
