REPORTS TO: Manager Operations PMO
DESCRIPTION:
Under the general supervision of the Manager Operations PMO, the Operations PMO Student will have a desire for problem solving and helping others. The role will provide a variety of project management support within the individual project functional areas. The functional areas are currently focused on providing Reporting Services using Power BI reporting tools and the identification of business requirements in process improvements. Responsibilities include maintenance and governance of current Power BI reports, and support to supervisors/management, work leaders and employees who are involved with project delivery processes.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):
• Perform a variety of administrative duties.
• Provide support in the governance of current Power BI reports.
• Prepare and develop reports and analysis documents as needed.
• Provide support to Business Process Advisor on business requirement analysis and modeling for business processes.
• Gather and compile feedback from key stakeholders through interviews, and review of existing documentation to understand and recommend business solutions and opportunities.
• Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing policies, procedures, and practices; recommend and implement approved improvements.
• Assist Business Process Advisors and Business Process Coordinators as required.
• Special projects and other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Ability to work independently in dynamic situations that do not necessarily have a prescribed solution.
• Basic understanding of electrical system function and distribution operations.
• General knowledge of terminology related to project management and power system engineering policies and procedures.
• Proficient computer skills including proficiency in Office 365.
• Experience in process or business analysis, including defining operational models, designing new processes and validation.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders; this includes good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated initiative in recognizing opportunities for improvement and efficiency in processes and practices.
• Organizational, time management and research information gathering skills
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution and be planning to return to a post-secondary institution in a full-time capacity.
• Experience working with Microsoft Power BI is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience working with DAX coding would be an asset.
• Experience working with ETL (extract, load, transform) best practices is an asset.
• Experience with Power Query is an asset.
