FortisAlberta is seeking a detail‑oriented and analytical Finance Analyst to support our Treasury and Finance operations.

 

In this role, you support the timely and accurate reporting of financial records, supporting cashflow and treasury activities, and providing insightful reporting to leadership. You will work closely with process owners across the organization to identify opportunities for efficiency and help implement improvements that strengthen financial controls and decision‑making.

Job Description

  • Prepare, review, and post daily, monthly, and quarterly journal entries and banking transactions.
  • Complete monthly treasury and bank account reconciliations and investigate variances.
  • Maintain and analyze cashflow forecasts and provide recommendations to support daily liquidity management.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and inputs for quarterly and annual internal and external reporting.
  • Support treasury activities including debt compliance, draws, repayments, and counterparty requirements.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve efficiency, including automation of treasury and accounting processes.
  • Prepare and process taxes, insurance‑related documentation, and specialized financial reporting as assigned.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and support special projects across the Finance team.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration.
  • Minimum five years of combined financial analysis and accounting experience.
    • CPA designation or equivalency is an asset but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Proven analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities with the capacity to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, customer‑focused mindset.

 

Important Information

  • Permanent, full-time role.
  • Monday – Friday schedule.
  • Hybrid position, with up to 2 days per week from home.
  • Based out of our Calgary location on 17th ave.
  • This role will be moving to our Airdrie office location in 2027.
