DESCRIPTION:

Under the general direction of the Manager IT Quality Assurance Solutions, the IT Business Analyst is primarily responsible for providing support to the business analysis team by assisting in the gathering, analysis, and documentation of requirements for all aspects of IT PMO Project Delivery Model. This includes but is not limited to approved lifecycle projects, upgrades and new project intake.

The IT Business Analyst will work closely with the Enterprise IT Business Analyst, and project delivery resources as well as business unit leaders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to define scope, requirements and verify all project deliverables ultimately meet business objectives.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):

  • Lead or assist in the analysis, definition, development, and documentation of requirements for changes to IT systems, working in close collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
  • Lead IT project work including executing technical upgrades and lifecycle initiatives.
  • Gain exposure to GIS, Quality Centre, CRM and Web related projects by contributing throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Help maintain requirements information throughout the project lifecycle, from intake to closure, including transition to IT support.
  • Support the Quality Assurance Lead (QA) and Operational Change Management (OCM) Lead in all phases of IT project delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of business analysis practices, toolkits, and governance in alignment with the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) Guide.
  • Participate in enhancing the Center of Excellence by supporting knowledge sharing and promoting standards and best practices.
  • Administration and provisioning of the OpenText Application Lifecycle Management Quality Centre (QC) Tool:
    • Create and set up project libraries and domains.
    • Manage and support new and existing users.
    • Create Requirements Traceability Matrix
    • Create QC test plans and labs.
    • Create required reports.
    • Train/onboard project team members and new users of QC.
    • Resolve support tickets in Ivanti as it relates to Quality Centre; work with vendor as required.
  • Take part in continuous improvement initiatives to achieve project delivery excellence.
  • Lead the administration of MIRO.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties, as assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Leading and executing IT project work including executing technical upgrades and lifecycle initiatives, with experience in contributing throughout the project lifecycle, with exposure to GIS, Quality Centre, CRM, Web related projects.
  • Familiarity with eliciting and documenting business and stakeholder requirements to support IT project delivery in multi-system environments.
  • Basic understanding of requirements gathering techniques such as workshops, document analysis, interviews, user stories, and use cases.
  • Working knowledge of common tools for requirements documentation and process modeling, such as MS Visio, MIRO, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Familiarity with enterprise software and collaboration tools including Microsoft Office 365, MS Teams, SharePoint, and CRM systems.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under guidance.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt information for different audiences.
  • Customer service focus with a collaborative approach to building effective relationships with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to apply a structured and logical approach to problem-solving.
  • Awareness of systems development methodologies, requirements analysis, and testing concepts.
  • Familiarity with business process modeling (e.g., basic flowcharts, cross-functional flow diagrams, workflows).
  • Interest in expanding skills with business analysis tools and methods.
  • Experience with MIRO or Quality Centre (ALM) considered an asset.
  • Exposure to SAP, Azure DevOps and JIRA would be considered an asset.

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or Engineering, plus a minimum of three (3) years of recent experience as an IT Business Analyst in the area of IT Operations and Projects is required.
    • One (1) year of experience administering MIRO and Quality Centre (ALM)
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) designation would be considered an asset.
  • An IIBA Accredited certificate or from a recognized post-secondary institute in Business Analysis, Business Intelligence, or Data Analysis would be considered an asset.
  • ProSci Change Management or Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications would be considered an asset.
  • Scrum Master or Scrum Product Owner certifications would be considered an asset.
  • Credentials such as Six Sigma, ITIL, DevOps, Agile, or Azure would be considered assets.
