FortisAlberta is seeking a motivated and customer‑focused Key Accounts Coordinator Student to support the intake and coordination of Micro Generation, Distributed Generation, and large load requests.
In this role, you will work directly with customers and collaborate with internal teams to help guide projects from initial inquiry through to completion. You will assist with customer applications, resolve inquiries, maintain accurate records, and ensure a smooth and positive customer experience.

Job Description:
• Create, record, and manage the status of Distributed Energy Resource and load requests in internal systems, including initiating new customer requests.
• Monitor internal queues to ensure service levels are met and requests are actioned, cancelled, or placed on hold as needed.
• Act as a point of contact for customers throughout the small Micro Generation process, responding to questions, concerns, and inquiries from start to finish.
• Confirm permit and inspection requirements by coordinating with municipalities to ensure compliance.
• Organize, update, and maintain accurate customer records and databases.
• Review current practices, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend strategies that enhance customer service.
• Assist with root‑cause analysis and provide recommendations to support process improvements.
• Promote FortisAlberta’s commitment to service by communicating customer concerns internally and coordinating follow‑up actions.
• Escalate issues requiring corporate support to leadership as needed.
• Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary program and returning to full‑time studies.
o Educational background in business, electrical engineering, and/or related technologies is an asset.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to understand and meet customer needs.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a large team.
• Ability to work independently, including in remote work environments.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Forward‑thinking mindset with interest in leveraging technology to improve processes.
• General proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI is considered an asset.
• Valid class 5 drivers license.
Important:
• Temporary student role.
• Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
• Based out of our Calgary Courtyard office on 17th Ave.
• All successful candidates will be subject to an education verification, criminal background check and must provide references.
