Are you driven to help organizations stay resilient in the face of disruption? FortisAlberta is seeking a strategic and collaborative Senior Advisor, Corporate Continuity to lead and evolve our enterprise business continuity program! 


In this role, you will work across the organization to ensure we are prepared to respond to and recover from unexpected events—protecting our people, operations, and customers. You will guide leaders through risk planning, build robust recovery strategies, and strengthen our overall preparedness.

Job Description:
•    Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of the corporate business continuity management program.
•    Partner with business units to develop and maintain effective continuity and recovery plans.
•    Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
•    Design and coordinate continuity scenarios, contingency plans, and workforce recovery strategies.
•    Lead training, awareness initiatives, and recovery exercises to strengthen organizational readiness.
•    Oversee the execution and testing of recovery plans, identifying gaps and driving continuous improvement.
•    Provide expert guidance to leaders and teams during business disruptions and recovery events.
•    Maintain and administer continuity planning tools and systems to support program effectiveness.
•    Monitor industry standards and best practices to ensure compliance and program maturity.

 

Qualifications:
•    Post‑secondary education in Emergency Management or a related discipline, plus 7 years’ experience in business continuity.
•    Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) designation is an asset.
•    Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP) and Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) designation(s) is an asset.
•    Strong knowledge of business continuity, disaster recovery, and risk assessment methodologies.
•    Proven ability to influence, collaborate, and build relationships across diverse stakeholders.
•    Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts clearly.
•    Excellent organizational and project management skills to manage multiple priorities.
•    Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on practical solutions.
•    Proficiency with productivity tools and business systems; experience with continuity planning software is an asset.

 

Important:
•    Permanent, full-time role.
•    Hybrid role, with opportunity to work 2 days per week from home once trained. 
•    Based out of our Calgary location.
•    This role will be moving to our Airdrie office location in 2027.
